Photo The concept is ingenious. In exchange for carrying a woman a city block, a group of healthy guys gets a ringside peek at some of the greatest amateur strip shows in the French Quarter. Better yet, Lou, a television engineer, captures it all for posterity on video and digital still cameras.

"Everybody has a great time," says Andy. "The girls love it. You've been in New Orleans enough to know what the usual trade is: Someone gives the girl beads, she gives a quick flash and so on and so forth. With the taxi, she gives a quick flash and then 12 guys spring into action to clear traffic and carry her down the street. There's music playing and everybody on the whole street sees us. Behind us comes a person with a shopping cart with a party ball full of beer in it. It's a whole show we put on for her."

In fact, the woman is treated like Carnival royalty.

"We have a PA system," Andy continues, "so as we put the girl up on top, we'll ask her name and announce, 'Queen so-and-so is coming through! Throw us some beads, gentlemen,' that kind of thing. We'll taunt the crowd to be sure that the crowd throws the girl lots of beads."

The celebrated female can continue to earn beads while on the taxi, or just lie back and soak up the attention. "We don't tell her to do anything," says Andy. "They get showered with beads either way. If they respond to the crowd and pull their top off again, they get a lot more."

It's taxicab confession time. What's the wildest thing they've ever seen?

"Girl-girl acts," Lou interjects without hesitation. "Sometimes they'll get naked and get friendly with each other."

"We've had girls exotic dancing up there, we've had girls kissing each other, kissing each other's breasts, rubbing each other up and down. We've had all kinds of stuff," Andy confirms. "There was an elementary-school teacher last year who was wearing a nurse's outfit with no panties. I think she was kind of a semi-exhibitionist."

"I guess everyone is an exhibitionist down here," Lou adds.
